Player Rules
This page presents the current player-rules draft without changing the competition meaning.
League Format
The Narrows Pickleball Box Ladder has five separate ladders: Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Singles entries are individual players; doubles entries are fixed pairs. Players arrange their own matches and courts. Each four-week cycle places entries into boxes, usually with four entries per box.
Match Format
Matches are best two of three games. Games are to 11, win by two, with no score cap.
Scheduling
Contact opponents during the first seven days. Replies are expected within 72 hours. If scheduling is difficult, offer at least three reasonable date or time options. Aim to have all matches scheduled by day 14.
All matches should be completed by the cycle deadline. If a match remains unplayed, league administration may determine responsibility based on the participants' reasonable efforts to arrange the match. The responsible player or team may receive a forfeit loss and the opposing player or team a forfeit win. Where neither side is responsible, both sides failed to make reasonable efforts, or exceptional circumstances prevented play, the match may be recorded as a no contest. All eligible played league matches are submitted to DUPR. Administrative forfeits, no-contests, and other results without genuine played scores are not submitted to DUPR.
Scores and Corrections
Either side may submit a result. Scores publish immediately as provisional. Either side may request a correction within 48 hours with a reason. For doubles, either partner may submit a result for their team. Disputed results go to administrator review.
Standings and Movement
Standings use match wins, head-to-head, tied-entry mini-table, game differential, point differential, then administrator review. First place normally moves up one box and last place normally moves down one box.
Conduct
Matches are self-officiated under the current official rules adopted by Pickleball Canada unless a published league rule expressly overrides them. Players call their own side and resolve genuine doubt in favour of the opponent.
